Abnormal skin folds at the opening of the vagina (labia) can be distressing. If you have an uneven, asymmetrical or large labia, this can cause pain during intercourse. Labiaplasty can correct these issues. Depending on individual circumstances, different techniques can be applied to correct the normal anatomy of labia. These procedures are relatively safe and effective. Not only it improves the appearance, it also improves the sexual health. Most can be performed in the office setting or outpatient surgery center under local anesthesia or IV sedation.

As a result of childbirth and aging many women experience vaginal relaxation due to muscle separation and loss of tone. This can result in lessened sexual gratification for the couple. Surgery may be a good option when vaginal and Kegel exercises fail to restore the vaginal shape and tone.
