Gynecological Plastic Surgery

Reconstructive gynecological procedures may seem ‘optional’. For some women, the correction of certain conditions can be life changing in their positive effect. Whatever your concern, you can be sure your case will be handled with compassion and respect.

Labiaplasty

Abnormal skin folds at the opening of the vagina (labia) can be distressing. If you have an uneven, asymmetrical or large labia, this can cause pain during intercourse. Labiaplasty can correct these issues.  Depending on individual circumstances, different techniques can be applied along with other corrections such as hymenoplasty, vaginoplasty, and reducing the size of the skin flap that covers the clitoris (clitoral hood reduction).  These procedures are relatively safe and effective solutions for total sexual health.  Most can be performed in the clinic setting or outpatient surgery center under local anesthesia or IV sedation.  In some cases, general anesthesia is required.

Labiaplasty procedure is done to correct asymmetrical, elongated or irregular labia minora. Many women experience discomfort, irritation or tissue rubbing during sexual intercourse. In selected cases this surgery can be done in the office under local anesthesia. However for the most cases this procedure is performed at the outpatient surgery center. This can be performed alone or can be combined with vaginoplasty.

Vaginoplasty

As a result of childbirth and aging many women experience vaginal relaxation due to muscle separation and loss of tone. This can result in lessened sexual gratification for the couple. Surgery may be a good option when vaginal and Kegel exercises fail to restore the vaginal shape and tone.

Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure that can restore the shape, size and muscle tone of vagina, resulting in improved sexual experiences. This can be performed alone or in combination with other cosmetic enhancement procedures of female genital tract. However a full gynecological examination is necessary to determine the suitability of the procedure. At our center we can help and guide women to make this choice.

Hymenoplasty

The hymen is a thin layer of skin that sits at the opening of the vagina. The hymen can tear due to injury, tampon use or sexual interecourse. Hymenoplasty can restore the tissue that covers the vaginal opening to be intact.
